No – we are not moonlighting as a bluegrass band! HArmonyCA is a hybrid injectable: it is composed of 70% hyaluronic acid gel and 30% calcium hydroxyapatite. Hyaluronic acid is the main component of traditional “dermal fillers” that provide definition, volume support and contour to features of the face, with results that are near-immediate. Calcium Hydroxyapatite is a biostimulator agent – it puts our skin cells that make collagen and elastin back to work to improve firmness of the skin over time.
It can give us the best of both worlds in the same syringe.
What do you mean, it’s not entirely new?
1) While HArmonyCA is a new biostimulator injectable in Canada, it has been used safely and effectively in Brazil and many European countries for 5+ years.
2) As a sub-investigator doing clinical trial research at Pacific Derm, Dr. Richer has assessed patients treated with HArmonyCA for the Canadian studies conducted from 2022 to 2024.
3) Many of our patients are already familiar with hyaluronic acid gel (Belotero, Restylane, Juvederm) and calcium hydroxyapatite (Radiesse) injection treatments – HArmonyCA is a combination of both of those treatments.
Who is a good candidate for HArmonyCA?
HArmonyCA will be well suited for the treatment plan of a patient who is keen to address “descent” of the face by supporting the cheekbone area, the sides of the cheek (by the ear) and the jawline while improving the elasticity and firmness of the skin. Early jowls, “accordion” lines while smiling and lack of definition can be addressed with HArmonyCA as part of a global treatment plan.
