Ultherapy
What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is microfocused ultrasound treatment with visualization. The device handpiece delivers ultrasound energy in the collagen-rich layers of the skin. These layers are seen in real-time via ultrasound to ensure the energy is delivered to the right layer by our trained nursing staff.
What can Ultherapy treat?
Ultherapy is in the category of nonsurgical skin tightening treatments. Patients who benefit are looking to slow down the process of skin sagging – either of the eyebrows, or of the lower face/jowl area. Ultherapy can also be performed on the neck, chest and other body sites. During consultation, we can determine if you are a good candidate for nonsurgical skin tightening like Ultherapy, or if you should rather consider a surgical lift.
What is the procedure and recovery like after Ultherapy?
On the day of treatment, we review the procedure with you, you sign forms and we take photos of the treatment areas. The treatment outline is drawn on the skin. The ultrasound handpiece is used to deliver the energy over the area. Heat is felt during the treatment – during your consultation we will make a plan for pain management. Though the skin may appear red after the procedure and be tender for a few days, there is usually minimal social downtime after the treatment. Benefits occur slowly over 3-6 months after the procedure.
